MILWAUKEE, WI – The Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), in association with Family Travel Forum (FTF), the award-winning online resource for family vacation information, are proud to announce winners of the 5th annual FTF Teen Travel Writing Scholarship. The contest encourages teens to share travel experiences in words and images, and nearly 6,000 students ages 13 to 18 applied for this merit scholarship. They blogged about a range of experiences from service trips to journeys to re-connect with their own heritage; from exploring nature to those that focused on cultural immersion.

“The future of travel writing and photography is best represented by the winners of this year’s
contest,” said SATW President Dale Leatherman. “The combination of education, adventure,
and scholarship is a fantastic formula for young travelers, and we are honored to continue
SATW’s relationship with the Family Travel Forum.”

“Family Travel Forum is proud to support the work of young travel bloggers with scholarships
and grants,” says FTF editor Kyle McCarthy. “We know sharing their work in our online
